Mika Friman
CEO
Mika ensures that Hive Helsinki runs as a smooth operation for students, staff, and partners alike. He is dedicated to creating an environment where Hive’s innovative education model can flourish. By focusing on efficiency and quality, Mika ensures that every aspect of Hive – from student experiences to partner collaborations – operates seamlessly.

Noé Falzon
Pedagogy Lead
Noé puts his decade of industry experience as a software developer in service of supporting the students and enabling them to be the best programmers they can be, ready to tackle their first programming jobs. As pedagogy lead, he ensures that the students acquire a wide range of technical competences, from fundamentals to real-life methodologies and tools, as well as the soft skills and know-how required by modern, fast-changing work environments.

Salla Uusitalo
Community & Partnerships Lead
Salla leads Hive’s company partnerships and oversees the student community. She is the go-to person for new and existing partners, ensuring that every collaboration brings real, tangible impact. For Salla, Hive isn’t just a school — it’s a unique mix of tech, innovation, and talent. A buzzing hub that brings together people from all walks of life, develops future-proofed coders and problem-solvers, and creates the tools and services of tomorrow.

Sara Majasaari
Career & Admin Lead
Sara makes sure that all administrative matters and the school’s facilities are in order. She has a sharp eye for details, a passion for driving things forward, and the ability to always keep the bigger picture in mind. Sara believes that Hive offers future coders a great opportunity to learn a broad set of skills highly valued in the job market.

Simranjit Singh
Support Specialist
Simranjit manages schools software and hardware technicalities to ensure smooth studies for our Hivers. He finds it fun to combine knowledge from different various fields in creative brainstorming and problem-solving, and thinks that with the ever-increasing global shift to digitalisation, having coding in our skill set is of utmost importance.

Clément Cariou
Pedagogy SPECIALIST
Clément has a passion for education and coding. He is dedicated to helping students reach their full potential during their journey at Hive. Clément has endless curiosity and a strong belief that coding can unlock creativity and bring innovative solutions for the big challenges we face. He enjoys exploring fresh perspectives through coding and discovering.

Joakim Larres
Marketing Specialist
Joakim is the swiss army knife of marketing at Hive and responsible for keeping a steady flow of new applications coming our way. Be it campaigns, exploring ways to optimize the application journey, designing assets or diving into analytics, he will gladly take on the challenge. Joakim believes that by working together with the right people and partners we can really contribute to Hive´s mission of providing inclusive and accessible education for everyone, regardless of background.

Sofia Nordbäck
Community Assistant
Sofia supports the Hive community and organizes exciting on and off-campus events. Ensuring a welcoming environment and fostering good vibes is very important to her, as she believes people are at the heart of everything. Sofia sees Hive as a place where mutual support drives incredible personal and professional growth. It’s a unique space filled with energy, motivation, and friends, where talented coders are shaped and developed with a broad skill set.

Drussila Hollanda
Chairwoman
A game industry veteran and Supercell alumnus, with 20 years of experience working in multidisciplinary teams and leadership, Drussila became inspired to tackle the lack of coding talent and diversity in tech with education. In 2017, she led the founding of Hive on behalf of Supercell, served as interim CEO during the school’s building phase and continued to be involved as as a board member.

Linda Liukas
Board member
Author of Hello Ruby and founder of Rails Girl, a global movement to teach young women programming in over 300 cities, Linda has 10 years of experience in the field of coding and learning. She will bring her fresh perspective to Hive and support its mission of getting more young and diverse people into coding.

Clarisse Berggårdh
BOARD MEMBER
CEO of Helsinki Partners, former CEO of Pohjoisranta BWC and Sanoma Magazines. Clarisse brings a communications and PR perspective to the board, and many years of experience on board work in big companies. Clarisse was also integral in the early days of building Hive.

Guilherme Décourt
Board Member
Founder of 42 São Paulo, Brazil, VC in tech & education, entrepreneur. Guilherme Decourt has been building 42 São Paulo for the past five years. Previously he was a General Partner at Monashees Capital, a Brazilian venture capital firm that invests in early-stage companies in technology and education.

TOMI TUOMINEN
BOARD MEMBER
Tomi Tuominen is a globally recognized cybersecurity expert with over 30 years of experience. He is currently the Chief Security Officer at Wolt and has trained professionals, executives, and policymakers in information security. Tomi has been named one of the Top 100 IT Influencers in Finland three times, and he has published globally recognized security research. He is also a co-host of Herrasmieshakkerit (Gentleman hackers), a leading Finnish technology podcast.

TOMMI KORHONEN
BOARD MEMBER
Tommi is Director of People & Culture at OP Financial Group, with a background in talent acquisition and culture development. He’s worked in London and Zürich, bringing a global view on learning, belonging and workplace culture. At Hive, he helps nurture confident, collaborative professionals alongside strong technical skills.

Wille Väärä
BOARD MEMBER
Hive Helsinki alumni and R&D Manager at Nokia Mobile Networks.
Wille brings unique academic and professional experience to the board, having studied at Hive Helsinki and then worked alongside many other Hive Helsinki alumni at Nokia.
