A NEW CAREER IN TECH

Hivers come from every kind of background: healthcare, construction, education, business, art. Whatever you did before gave you real skills, communicating, solving problems, working under pressure, even if none of it was technical. What it takes is the willingness to work through problems you haven’t faced before.

Your past experience isn’t a disadvantage

What you’ve done before – managing, solving problems under pressure, communicating with different kinds of people – is relevant to tech.

The tech industry doesn’t need more people who only know how to write code. It needs people who have professional maturity and the ability to use it to build things.

Every year Hive accepts people with zero technical background who go on to work as software engineers at companies including Supercell, Oura, Wolt, and Accenture.

A smarter way to start over

18 months. Eligibility to apply for Kela student benefits. Free. An effective, focused path into a new career.

You’ll work on practical projects, work with others, and connect with the tech and startup ecosystem through events, hackathons, and meetups.

The campus is open 24/7, and you’ll plan your hours. But you still have to show up consistently.

Finance your studies

Hive is free of charge. As a student, you are eligible to apply for Kela student financial aid even if you’ve used it before. If you’re a registered job seeker, you might also qualify for unemployment benefits while studying.

Talk to your advisor early and check Kela’s website for details.

All decisions are made by government officials, not Hive Helsinki.
