how to apply to hive

No degrees or previous experience required. Just the willingness to commit, build and experiment with technology, and collaborate with others.

You must be at least 18 years old, a Finnish citizen, an EU citizen, or hold a valid Finnish residence permit. That’s it. The rest you showcase by motivation and doing.

The application has three stages.
Each one asks a little more of you than the last.

Step 1: Try our online game

This is our problem-solving test and tests logical thinking, not technical knowledge. Set aside at least an hour, and find somewhere you can focus.

Step 2: Attend a check-in event

Once you’ve completed the game, come to a check-in event, online or on-site. You’ll hear exactly how Hive works, what the Selection Sprint is about, and what you’re signing up for.

Step 3: Participate in the Selection Sprint

Attend an immersive three-week selection period on campus that will give you a taste of the way we work. No prior technical skills required – you just need to be open and ready for hard work.

Always open to apply

The first step of the application process, the online game, is always open for you to try.

However, the check-ins and selection sprint dates are announced on our website and application portal.
