Applications Are Open – New Curriculum at Hive Helsinki

Hive Helsinki is again accepting new applications, and we’re excited to welcome the next generation of problem-solvers into our community. Over the course of 18 months, you will learn by doing, working on real projects with your peers, and building the skills that matter in today’s tech world. Our refreshed curriculum puts collaboration, creativity, and hands-on experience at the heart of your journey.
How to Apply to Hive
Here are the steps to follow when applying to Hive Helsinki:
1.Register
Head over to our application portal intra.hive.fi and register. After you have confirmed your email address, you need to verify your identity and fill in some personal details about yourself.
2.Online game
Your next step is to try to succeed at our online game. It’s a one-hour game that challenges your problem-solving skills, logic, and perseverance. You have 3 lives to complete the game. Stay resilient, you can do it!
3.Check-in event
Once you have passed the online game, you need to sign up for a Check-in event. At this event, you get to learn more about Hive and what to expect in the Selection Sprint. We organize both on-site Check-ins, where you can discover the campus, and remote Check-ins for those who’re unable to make it to campus.
Here are the dates fo upcoming Check-in. We will announce when registration for them opens. Spots are limited and claimed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Wednesday 8th October, 14:00-16:00 (On-site)
- Thursday 30th October, 14:00-16:00 (Remote)
- Wednesday 12th November, 16:00-18:00 (On-site)
- Wednesday 3rd December, 14:00-16:00 (On-site)
4.Selection Sprint
After you have attended a Check-in event and your attendance has been confirmed, you can register for a Selection Sprint. This is an intensive three-week on-site experience where you get a real taste of what studying at Hive is like.
You do not need any previous coding experience. The focus is on learning by doing, teamwork, and resilience. You will work on tasks together, share both successes and failures, teach one another, and build skills in programming and problem-solving. AI assistance is not allowed.
The Selection Sprint is your chance to explore, learn, and show your potential. Your journey here will help us see if Hive is the right next step for you.
Selection Sprint registration opens for just one hour at a set time. The spots are limited and tend to fill up very fast! The upcoming Selection Sprint registration for the 2026 winter sprints is:
- Monday 8th December, 12:00-13:00
Make sure you have good internet connectivity and be ready to act fast when the time comes.
The 2026 winter sprits will be held:
- Monday 19th January – Friday 6th February
- Monday 16th February – Friday 6th March
Students who get selected from the 2026 winter sprints will start their studies at Hive on Monday, 13th April.
