On November 24, 2024, the Hive Helsinki community once again gathered for the annual Beecoming Ceremony — a magical evening dedicated to celebrating our latest graduates. Students, staff, family, and friends came together to honor the hard work and dedication of those who have successfully completed their journey at Hive Helsinki.

Future-Proofed at Hive Helsinki

Hive Helsinki offers a rigorous and demanding training program designed to prepare students for the challenges of the tech industry. The journey begins with an intensive four-week selection period, where candidates work tirelessly — 26 consecutive days without breaks. This ensures that only the most motivated and resilient individuals move forward in the program.

Following the selection phase, students dive into the Core Curriculum, which spans 1.5 years. Through in-depth study of C and C++, and hands-on collaboration on diverse projects, they gain a solid understanding of programming fundamentals. This strong foundation allows them to adapt quickly to higher-level coding languages and emerging technologies, equipping them with the skills needed to solve real-world problems.

Skills Tested in the Real World

Upon completing the Core Curriculum, students transition into the professional world, where they independently seek internships or junior positions. While Hive Helsinki does not provide direct job placement, students benefit from workshops and events led by talent acquisition experts. These sessions offer valuable insights on crafting compelling CVs, excelling in job interviews, handling technical assessments, and navigating the job market.

After four to six months of real-world experience, students return to validate their work experience, marking the final step before officially becoming Hive Alumni. This milestone is then celebrated at the Beecoming Ceremony.

To date, Hive graduates have been recruited by more than 100 companies across various industries, from Abloy to Ōura. Employer feedback is overwhelmingly positive, with 98% rating Hivers as “good” or “excellent.” Many companies highlight their proactive attitude, adaptability, and ability to contribute effectively from day one.
